Heritage executive director, Jack Gold will speak on The Future of Historic Preservation in San Francisco at a noontime forum, Tuesday, June 24, 12:30 1:30 pm., at SPUR, 312 Sutter St. (at Grant), 5th floor. SPUR Forums are open to the public, free for SPUR members, $5 for nonmembers. Feel free to bring a lunch. More information at

2. Presidio Guided Walks – Bringing Back the Heart of the Presidio
Every Wednesday and Sunday through July 30, 2008, 2 to 3:30 pm
Meet at the Presidio Officers’ Club, 50 Moraga Avenue
No RSVP needed - group/special request tours available upon request.
Presidio Trust staff will describe the historic Main Post and discuss ideas for revitalizing it as the heart of an urban national park. Learn about proposals for a heritage center, an archaeology lab, public uses in the iconic brick barracks, a park lodge, reuse of the historic theatre, and a museum of contemporary art. Get answers to your questions and find out how you can make your opinions heard in this public process. Layered clothing and comfortable shoes are recommended. For details, visit
