1. Steve Farneth, Principal with the San Francisco architectural firm Architectural Resources Group, will discuss the relationship between the LEED and historic structures. What challenges do historic rehabilitation projects face when attempting LEED certification? How do historic structures play easily into LEED points? Should LEED have a Historic Structures overlay? 2. The Western Chapter of the Assoc for Preservation Technology (WCAPT) and Stanford University are hosting an afternoon on the Quad at Stanford University to learn about the efforts that have resulted in restoration of the sandstone balustrades. Thursday, July 24, 2008 from 1:00 - 4:00pm at the Wallenberg Learning Theater, Stanford University. There is no charge for attending the event. 3. ICA&CA Northern California Chapter offers an evening of a slideshow presentation with expert lecturer, Calder Loth, a Senior Architectural Historian for the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. The evening will begin with a light reception at the beautiful Palladian inspired galleries of Antiquarian and Northern California ICA&CA board member, Ed Hardy of ED HARDY SAN FRANCISCO, followed by a slideshow presentation on Thomas Jefferson, the architect, and his Palladian influence on American classical architecture.
