1. The Art of Real Estate :: Opening Reception, First Thursdays at Urban-Eyes TONIGHT August 7th 2008, 5:00-8:00pm (212 Sutter Street, 2nd Floor) celebrates two Bay Area artists. David Jay Trachtenberg contemplates his art from a sparse, patched up naval classroom looking out on San Francisco's defunct Naval Shipyards in Bayview Hunters Point. The remnants inspire dreamlike collages that make peace with the past, and ask that we bask in and rise from the beauty that is. Clay Seibert over the last three decades has produced nearly 10,000 residential renderings, helping motivate a multi-billion dollar real estate industry. His extended collection of San Francisco neighborhoods, street scenes, and architectural details offer a rich and untapped resource for urban planners and preservationists. www.urban-eyes.com
